Prayer and Share is the Heart of Kairos

The ultimate goal of Kairos is to build a Christian community inside the Institution.

Prayer and Share provides an opportunity for the Inside Community to encourage and nurture each other in their faith walk on a weekly basis. It is open to men who have participated in a Kairos Weekend either at Ellis or any other unit. During Prayer and Share, the Men in White meet in groups of 3 to 6 individuals to pray specifically for each other, experience deeper fellowship together, and provide accountability. While the Kairos Weekend is truly a milestone event in the lives of all men who participate, Prayer and Share is what truly sustains the ministry inside. It is the heart of Kairos.

Prayer and Share is held on every 1st, 2nd and 3rd Saturdays of the month in the Chapel inside the Ellis Unit. (The 4th Saturday is Kairos Reunion at Ellis.)

Meetings are facilitated by at least one free world Kairos team member, and additional volunteers are welcome and encouraged.

The presence of free world volunteers is essential to allow the Men in White to gather in the Chapel; however, they are not participants in the Residents’ small groups. Prayer and Share is an internally lead activity, and the Residents conduct their own group meetings.

This is the Essence of Kairos of Texas
